Aqara Presence Sensor FP2
The Aqara Presence Sensor FP2 uses advanced millimeter-wave radar technology to detect human presence with high precision, even with minimal movement. This ensures reliable and continuous operation for your smart home system. It also features zone positioning, enabling different automations within specific areas such as beds or desks. A single room can be divided into up to 30 zones, with the ability to detect up to five individuals simultaneously.
Zone positioning
Unlike traditional PIR motion sensors, the FP2 uses a single radar sensor to cover spaces up to approximately 40 m². You can segment the area into as many as 30 zones, including sofas, beds, or workspaces, and assign customized automation to each. This provides the functionality of multiple motion sensors within one device.
Multi-person detection
The sensor can track up to five people at once. This allows automations to respond individually based on each person’s position without interference, enhancing accuracy and responsiveness.
High precision and privacy
The FP2 ensures accurate detection without capturing images, preserving user privacy. Its radar-based system performs more consistently than infrared sensors, even when occupants remain still, such as while sitting or sleeping. Most automations can also run locally.
Smart home integration
The device integrates seamlessly with Apple Home, Home Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home. It can be connected directly without requiring a hub, making it ideal for expanding smart home ecosystems.
Fall detection and alerts
The FP2 can identify falls within a 2-meter radius and send alerts with over 98% accuracy. It operates discreetly without the need for cameras or wearable devices. The recommended installation height ranges from 2.5 m to 2.8 m.
Built-in light sensor
Equipped with a light sensor, the FP2 enhances lighting automation by enabling brightness-based scenarios, making smart lighting more adaptive and efficient.
Local automation and flexible installation
Once configured, the sensor operates locally, ensuring continued functionality even during Wi-Fi disruptions while also improving privacy. It supports multiple mounting options to suit different environments.
Durability and connectivity
With an IPX5 rating, the device can be installed in humid areas such as bathrooms. Its USB-C port allows flexible power options using compatible cables.
